FIFA 18 is finally available for purchase and we at Soultricks.com are ready to provide you with our tips on the most popular mode of the Electronic Arts title, that is FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT). But what is FUT mode all about? For hardcore fans I don't think there are more mysteries, but for newbies, just know that the main goal is to build the best possible lineup. Doing so will certainly not be a walk in the park, but this year, thanks to a new mode, Squad Battles (which we'll talk about in a bit) it will be easier to earn credits to spend on the purchase of players. But before giving you our “precious” advice, it is necessary to explain in detail how the Ultimate Team works.

We will have to create a team, so far we have, but how? There are multiple ways to do this by relying on the Trade, buying (with credits or FIFA Points) the packages, using the Web App specific on PC or in Companion App on mobile devices, through the Squad Creation Challenges and finally participating in competitions, such as: FUT Champions, Squad Battles, online and offline Divisions. So there are several ways to raise credits and players. It will be up to you to decide how to approach the FUT mode. It is not mandatory to buy and sell, the writer never relies on this possibility, not because it is not fruitful but because in addition to there being considerable fluctuations in the market, it requires a lot of time to devote.

The quickest method but also the most uncertain one is certainly through the purchase of packages. How will we be able to buy them? As said or through the credits, well in 7 years of FUT I have that minimum of experience to tell you that they would just be thrown to the wind. The possibilities are practically very low, without considering that the prices of the packages are a bit high. The packs are divided into three categories: Bronze, Silver and Gold as well as the promo ones that will be available during the year. Below, the list of packages available in the shop:

Bronze Pack - (400 Credits): Includes 12 items, including players, club items and consumables, at least 10 bronze items including 1 rare.
Premium Bronze Pack - (750 Credits): Contains triple the rare items of a standard bronze pack, including players, club items and consumables, at least 10 bronze of which 3 are rare.
Silver Pack - (2500 Credits or 50 FIFA Points): Includes 12 items, including players and consumables, at least 11 silver including 1 rare.
Premium Silver Pack - (3750 Credits or 75 FIFA Points): Contains triple the rare items of a standard silver pack. Includes 12 items, including players and consumables, at least 11 silver of which 3 are rare.
Gold Pack - (5000 Credits or 100 FIFA Points): A great pack for finding the best players. Includes 12 items, including players and consumables, at least 10 gold including 1 rare.
Premium Gold Pack - (7500 Credits or 150 FIFA Points): Contains triple the rare items of a standard gold pack, including players, club items and consumables, at least 10 gold including 3 rare.

Alternatively, instead of spending our credits, we can put our wallets in hand and buy the FIFA Points which will allow you to acquire the packages by spending real currency. The available cuts are as follows:

There is little to say here, those who spend the most will certainly have a better chance of finding the rarest and strongest players in the game. Honestly, I've bought FIFA Points in the past, but never overdo it. However, we are talking about a game that in less than a year will be “old”, so what's the point of spending crazy amounts?

Squad Creation Challenges, Achievements, Squad Battles and more ...

Having said that, we can finally move on to analyze what are the ways in which to raise more credits. Let's start with Squad creation challenges, introduced with FIFA 17 and which represented one of the major innovations of last season. It is no coincidence that this year we talk about Expanded Squad Creation Challenges, as they are updated weekly with new rewards and unique players. These challenges ask the player to build a certain type of team, starting with basic challenges that require you to deploy from 2 to 6 players in certain roles, with a certain understanding or possessing a certain quality (Silver for example), up to try to build 11 player squads. The method is great for "recycling" players that we do not use and are worth little on the market. Don't underestimate it.

SQUAD BATTLES

Here I could talk for hours, but I'll try to get straight to the point. This for whoever writes to you, is the real news this year and it is also the mode that allows you to get many credits and special packages. Now I can't know how you are doing in FIFA, but I can tell you that such challenges, offline and not online, therefore against the CPU, require a little attention. The user can select the difficulty level from Beginner to Extreme and depending on the choice it will be possible to obtain a certain number of points that will position you in a certain range of the world ranking. Let's say it works a bit like FUT Champions, but unlike the latter we will not have to qualify through a tournament and we will not be "forced" to play 40 games within 72 hours. Every day approximately once or twice a day, we will therefore be able to challenge 4 teams, real teams, of real users, only controlled by the computer. After the 4 games we will have to wait a few hours for the squads to be updated. All this lasts a week, every Monday the prizes corresponding to the band in which we are placed will be awarded.

OBJECTIVES

Another novelty introduced this year are the Daily Goals (which update every 24 hours) and Weekly (which update every 7 days). They are simple challenges that require the user to perform certain actions off the pitch, such as buying a player on the transfer market, selling a player, applying a physical form, a contract, etc. or directly in a match: make three assists with a Brazilian player, score from a corner kick, etc. The objectives are fairly simple to complete and will reward you with credits and packs.

FUT CHAMPIONS & FUT CHAMPIONS CHANNEL

FUT Champions was the most popular and at the same time perhaps hated mode of FUT. Great news of last year, which saw thousands of players compete against each other. The last challenge, after 43 weeks, was held in early September. Now it returns in great shape, albeit not deviating from what was seen in FIFA 17. EA Sports has this year introduced FUT Champions Channel, a channel that allows players to review and analyze in detail all the games played by the strongest pro-players on the planet. What is it for? To steal the secrets of the best; it will then be possible to pause the match, zoom in on a specific player, change the camera view and watch the highlights in slow motion. DRAFT FUT

This mode was introduced in FIFA 16 (if you don't know what it is, you can read our article about it) is accessible for a fee, using the available credits or FIFA Points. Specifically, they will serve 15.000 credits o 300 FIFA Points. We will have to create a squad, choosing from a series of players who will be proposed to us. Sometimes the choice will not be easy, but try to follow a logical thread in order to create the best team, for understanding and potential, possible. By winning matches, in a series of 4 games, you will earn packs and credits. Of course, if you manage to win all the games, you have a better chance of getting the best prizes.

Sniping

One of the most popular methods of making credits is sniping. This technique has already existed for some years but what exactly does it consist of?

There are two ways to snip: auction and buy now. Arm yourself with a lot of patience, a good amount of credits and a decent connection. The sniping we're going to talk about is based on buy now. Basically, the mechanism is simple and is based on the non-knowledge of the real value of some players by the users who will place them on the market at a much lower value than the market value. If we take this week's SBCs (November 7 to November 14) and especially the "Main Meetings" such as Sweden-Italy, among the various requirements is to include at least two Swedish players in the squad.

If you go to the transfer market and set your search in Football A and Swedish nationality, you will notice that the Swedish players militant in our league, although we don't have who knows what statistics or overall, have a very high price. Emil Krafth of Bologna, cost about 950 credits at the end of October, while today, precisely by virtue of the SBC we are talking about, the price is around 6500. Same thing for Armenteros (from 990 to 6200 credits), Helander (from 450 to 5000 credits), Rohden (950 to 6000 credits). If you don't have these players in the squad, just keep an eye on the market. In fact, it is not uncommon to find players sold for much less than the real value, perhaps because some users completely ignore the current SBCs or do not check the price when they decide to send it to the market. Here, this is where we will need to step into action and apply sniping.

However, the time margin to buy the player is very low, it is just a few seconds or even less. Then check the value of that card on the market, enter the parameters, MAX buys now you want to spend e MAX price on 10000000. Then, hold the indicator on MAX price and press the L1 key to quickly lower it, circle to return to the search screen and triangle to start the search. Take these steps and you will surely see that players will come out to snip. If after several attempts you do not find anyone at that price, or you change the parameter of the MAX buy now or target. Avoid not overdoing sniping otherwise FIFA could mistake you for a Bot and temporarily ban you from the market or even permanently ban your account.

However, to give you a small example, one of the most sniper players is Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City. Well, yesterday its selling price was around 48500k. It wasn't difficult to buy 5 or 6 for 42500 and even 41000.

Also, always keep an eye on the IF market. Initially, some players may be sold on the market at a very affordable price. To give you an example, Thauvin of Marseille in IF version (Team TOTW 8), is sold on PlayStation for 24500 credits. It is not so unlikely that in exactly one week, its value will increase considerably even by several credits.

Match tips

In order to be able to shop at best in FUT it will be necessary to manage the team at our disposal. The players will suffer fatigue, suffer injuries and we will also have to keep an eye on the contracts that "bind" them to our team. These three aspects must always be managed in the best possible way. As for the physical form, it will decrease with each match played, to restore it or let the player rest on the bench or apply a consumable object PHYSICAL FORM. These items aren't exactly cheap, so if you want to keep some credit, make sure you always have one replacement per role. As for contracts, they must necessarily be purchased on the market, with prices that fluctuate, but in any case you will get away with about 300/350 credits. Finally, even injured players can be restored thanks to specific consumable cards. Remember that they are not cheap but depending on the extent of the injury, it usually does not last more than two games, you can rely on the market, especially at night to save a lot of coins.

Tips in pills:

Use the Web App or the Companion App from smartphone to get rewards. The Web App and the Companion App are also very useful for managing the market wherever you are.
Do not buy packages with credits. The chances of finding rare players are low. Instead, rely on the market, especially in the evening and at night when you could do good deals.
Play the new mode Squad Battles. 4 games a day, you choose the level of difficulty and, depending on the range in which you will place yourself, you can really try your luck in the packages you will get. Don't underestimate the modality either FUT Champions, as, although playing 40 games in 3 days is not exactly simple, it will give you additional credits that vary according to the band in which you will place yourself at the end of the Weekend League.

When you challenge The Team of the Week you can set the difficulty level. The higher the level, the greater the reward you will get by beating the TOTW.

UPDATE to 8 December 2017 - TOGS (Team of the Group Stage)

At the end of the groups of Champion's League and Europa League, the players of the TOGS, or Team of the Group Stage. These are the players who distinguished themselves during the group stage of the two European competitions. These cards will be available in packages until 19:00 on Wednesday 13 December.

Play the divisions. The progression in the division includes 10 games and 3 bands: salvation, promotion and title. You will receive credits and / or packages based on what goal you will achieve. Here, however, there is a certain uncertainty in the competition, as you will be able to meet players with affordable or really monstrous teams, especially from the 3rd division onwards.
If you have already played FUT in the past or in any case FIFA in general you will surely have obtained credits to spend in the EAS FC catalog of the game. These credits, referring to the FUT mode, as they will in any case also be expendable for the other game modes present in FIFA 18, can be used to borrow players, such as Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale, to unlock rewards, 1000 credits x 15 games, 200 credits x 10 games and so on, get contracts with a value of 99, increase the transfer list of our club.

Update to 15/12/2017 - FUTmas event

Today kicks off the FUTmas, or the new event dedicated to Christmas in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team.

During this period, which is likely to last until the beginning of January, Electronic Arts launch offers on store packs. Furthermore, as happened during the Black Friday of last November, even here on a daily basis, there will be Special SBCs, probably the special players obtainable, will have dedicated graphics (which you can see below) and will be non-exchangeable. However, guaranteed SBCs are also expected, i.e. guaranteed IF, guaranteed OTW and maybe, why not, guaranteed TOGS, the latter were released last week at the end of the Champion's League and Europa League groups.

Our advice, if you have any leftover credit, is to buy IF at scrap price, so that if any challenges arise that require them, you can make a lot of credits. If, on the contrary, difficult but there is the possibility, EA does not release dedicated challenges, reselling them, having bought them at practically scrap price, you would lose very little. Also not to be underestimated is the purchase of players with overall 82/83/84 which may be essential in SBCs that issue a guaranteed IF.

As for the SBCs, 3 new players will be released every day. You will have 24 hours to complete the challenges after which the challenges will be updated with new players. The particular thing is that these SBCs follow a countdown based on the jersey numbers of the players. The Pink Creation Challenge of December 15th is based on jersey numbers 30, 29 and 28, that of December 16th at numbers 27, 26 and 25 and so on.

These players do not have totally random roles, but they are the roles they had at the beginning of their football career. It's really weird to see Gareth Bale left back but in reality I was playing in that role at the time of Tottenham.

But that's not all, why there will be many SBCs to try your hand at. Notably, the FUT Birthday also includes St. Patrick's Day. As you can see from the available weekly objectives it is possible to obtain special green cards, usable directly in your teams or exchangeable for 3 SBCs present. Wayne Rooney, Yaya Tourè and Bastian Schweinsteiger (you can also find their versions on loan). To complete them, it is necessary to use the 4 Irish players obtained through the weekly objectives and exchange a squad with an 83+ rating.

Also always keep an eye on the available events as there may be flash SBCs, rewards such as special kits and other items not to be missed.

Icon players

We close this guide by talking about the latest news introduced this year. We are talking about the ICON players, who take the place of the Legends that were exclusive to Xbox. On FIFA 18, it will therefore be possible to find on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the players who have made the history of football. From Ronaldo to Diego Armando Maradona, from Jay-Jay Okocha to Ronaldinho, passing through Javier Zanetti, Alessandro Del Piero and many others. In total there are 120. Each player will have three variants, some examples can be found in the images below, each of them will concern a specific historical period of the player, from his initial moments up to the legend.
