Junique Masuda, Game Director of GAME FREAK inc., participated together with Tsunekazu Ishihara, President and CEO of The Pokémon Company, at the panel discussion with Nintendo developers, held Tuesday night at E3 in Los Angeles, to talk about the history of the Pokémon series and announce the new features that will be available in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y titles, which will be released worldwide on October 12 of this quest. year for the Nintendo 3DS line of consoles.
Masuda introduced the new communication system of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y: the Player Search System, or PSS. It also showed two new types of battles that players will be able to face while exploring the Kalos region: the Group Battle and the Aerial Battle.
In these types of battles, the ability of Trainers to build a team that can withstand attacks from multiple Pokémon or take on Pokémon in flight plays a key role. The PSS will allow you to easily find other Pokémon X or Pokémon Y players nearby or even on the other side of the world to fight and trade Pokémon. Once activated, the PSS will alert the player if there are people nearby who are playing Pokémon X or Pokémon Y and will give them the ability to fight or trade via wireless communication.
In addition, players who have a Wi-Fi connection will be able to connect with other players anywhere in the world. In this way it will be very easy to interact both with close people and with people thousands of kilometers away. In Pokémon X or Pokémon YWild Pokémon such as Houndour, Axew, Tauros, and Miltank can emerge simultaneously by engaging the player in a Group Battle.
In previous games in the series, battles always involved an equal number of Pokémon on both sides, such as normal one-on-one battles or Triple Battles. Battles with a group, on the other hand, herald fights of greater intensity in which the player will be forced to use a single Pokémon to face multiple wild Pokémon at the same time.
In this situation of obvious disadvantage, it will be essential to have in the team Pokémon with moves capable of attacking multiple targets at the same time. Some Trainers who will meet in Pokémon X e Pokémon Y they will challenge the player to Air Battles, or exciting high-altitude clashes. As you cross the Kalos region, you will encounter Trainers in the mood to fight from the top of a cliff or from other distant places.
The player will only be able to accept the challenge if he has Pokémon capable of flying in his team. Aerial Battle is a visually striking type of battle and an exciting new addition to the Pokémon series games. During the round table discussion with Nintendo developers held at E3, some were also presented Pokémon never seen before:
-Talonflame is an evolved form of Fletchling, a recently revealed Pokémon. It is a Fire and Flying type Pokémon of extraordinary speed and power. When swooping down on prey, it can reach speeds of 500 km / h. Attack enemies with devastating kicks, unleashing flames from your body as you zip through the sky. Talonflame knows Baldeali, one of the most powerful Flying-type moves. However, this move should be used with caution, as its incredible power also harms its users. Clauncher is a Gushing Pokémon that uses its huge claw not only to grab prey, but also to shoot deadly jets of water like bullets.
From close range, it can even smash a boulder! This Water-type Pokémon uses its giant claw to annihilate enemies using Hammer, a Water-type move that, in addition to having great power, is also more likely to land bad blows. Bad hits deal twice as much damage as normal hits.
-At first glance, the Pokémon Poison and Water-type Skrelp might just look like a rotting seaweed, but don't be fooled by appearances! Taking advantage of its unique appearance, Skrelp pretends to be a seaweed and, when a prey passes by, sprays poison on it to prevent it from reacting to its attacks. Skrelp can use Mud Bomb, a Poison-type move that can poison the enemy Pokémon. A poisoned Pokémon will continue to take damage for the duration of the fight.
On the same occasion it was also announced that Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be the first games in the series to give players a choice of seven languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Korean.
