Sensational news!
Capcom announced that Biohazard 7: Resident Evil (the Japanese version of Resident Evil 7) will arrive on the Nintendo Switch starting from 24 May 2018. As can be seen from the trailer below, all this will be achieved through a standalone software of cloud-streaming through Nintendo eShop.
The game version will also include DLC, Banned Footage Vol. 1 and 2.
What's really cool is that a one-time payment is required to play. For example, instead of buying the game outright, players will be able to spend 2.000 yen (including tax) - about $ 18 - to get a 180-day game pass. After that, you will need to purchase again to get a new pass.
Instead of the 24GB of space required to install, the game will only require 45MB to download and run the cloud service called RE7 Cloud - saving around 99,84% of space, excluding DLC. This is really a godsend for Nintendo Switch owners, which we remember having only 25GB of space available without external SD.
After downloading the RE7 Cloud service from the Nintendo Switch eShop, players will be able to try the game for free for 15 minutes. Thereafter, players can purchase the game for the aforementioned period (180 days). This should give Nintendo Switch owners enough time to figure out if the connection is sufficient to run the cloud service.
We do not yet know if the service will also arrive in the West or if it will perhaps be extended to other games, such as Monster Hunter World. One thing is certain, Capcom through this service, will significantly increase the copies sold of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
Recall that Resident Evil 7 and its DLCs are available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and if you have not yet played it, you can buy the Gold Edition on Amazon.
