In search of the fifty risqué magazines!
Mafia II: Definitive Edition is the updated version of the original Mafia 2, released in 2010 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. It is one of the most interesting games when it comes to mafia and criminal action. It is set in the fictional city of Empire Bay (inspired by New York and Los Angeles), between 1943 and the early 50s. In a real "nostalgia operation", 2K Games e hangar 13, have announced that the entire Mafia series is available in a revised and updated version. A single package called: Mafia Trilogy. From May 19, Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition are available for purchase, while the historic first chapter will arrive only later, in August and will be a real remake.
Among the most interesting things we can find in Mafia II are Playboy magazines scattered across the city. There are fifty in total and if you manage to get them all, you will also receive a trophy / achievement. This guide will help you find them all.

Guide to the localization of Playboy magazines in Mafia 2 Remastered
Chapter 1
There are no magazines in the first chapter, so relax and enjoy the ride. It's actually better this way because you'll be able to start the story without having any major distractions to think about.
Chapter 2
In chapter 2 you will find your firsts two magazines.
Playmate # 1: on the coffee table in the living room in Joe's apartment.
Playmate # 3: it will be a little more complicated to find because it is in the office of the burglar owner, Mike. Once you get there, rummage through the shelves until you find the magazine.
Chapter 3
Il chapter 3 has a total of five magazines to obtain.
Playmate # 18: it is located outside Derek Pappalardo's office. When you get there, keep looking at the floor as you follow Steve. You should be able to spot it, on the left a couple of meters from the entrance.
Playmate # 4: it is near Maria Agnello's apartment. To be exact, it will be right behind a small piece of furniture near the entrance.
Playmate # 5: it is located in the price administration office, which makes it much more difficult to obtain it. The magazine is located in a room opposite the editor's office. After retrieving the keys (needed to complete the mission), exit the office and enter the room opposite. On your right and to be precise on the windowsill, you will find the magazine.
Playmate # 6: the next magazine can be obtained once you enter the basement, where you can also deactivate the security alarm. Go there and look between the two shelves and you will find magazine # 6.
Playmate # 40: it is located right in the lobby of the price administration office, on the desk of the security guard. Who would have guessed that security guards loved "reading" that kind of thing?
Chapter 4
Chapter 4 features 4 playboys.
Playmate # 9: is found at the beginning of the mission, in which Vito and Joe must escape from the Police. Specifically, after having covered Joe twice while he is breaking open the doors to open an escape route, near the library so to speak, go up the stairs and look to the right. Magazine # 9 is on the floor next to a large box.
Playmate # 2: it is obtainable shortly after, instead of climbing the next stairs, approach the entrance door and look to the right, the magazine is near the doors of the Mall.
Playmate # 8: it is again on the floor inside the room located on the roof. We're going to have to go through this room, so the magazine should be pretty easy to get.
Playmate #7: it is located in the basement of Joe's apartment. Instead of going up the stairs, you have to go downstairs. The magazine will be on the ground. Simple, isn't it?
Chapter 5
Chapter five has three magazines.
Playmate # 11: it's in the big house. After shooting the bad guys, drop the machine gun and when Henry and Joe tell you to follow them, head upstairs. The magazine is easily identifiable.
Playmate #10: it is located in the distillery office on the first floor, exactly on the fourth shelf. However, the action will be quite hectic due to the enemies you will encounter. You will only have one chance to get it, so make sure you do it right, otherwise you won't be able to get it back.
Playmate # 12: last but not least, Playmate # 12 magazine is located on the right side of the room, between two chairs.
Chapter 6
Chapter six features three magazines.
Playmate # 13: is at the beginning of the chapter. Behind some small steps. There is a boy sleeping, approach him silently so that he does not wake up. Once there, look close to his legs and you will find the magazine.
Playmate # 14: it is very close to the basketball court behind the gray shed.
Playmate # 15: finally, the latest magazine is located in the prison's industrial laundry, on a very large machine. Look around for a while until you spot the magazine.
Chapter 7
Chapter seven features four Playmates and they are all fairly easy to obtain.
Playmate # 16: it's near the counter in Henry's shop.
Playmate # 50: located in the building where Joe lives, on the top floor.
Playmate # 17: is located on the kitchen table inside the new apartment.
Playmate # 14: The last one is always located inside Vito's new condominium. It is located on the second floor above a small cabinet.
Chapter 8
The eighth chapter of this game has three magazines.
Playmate # 19: it is found on an oil barrel inside one of the foundry's small warehouses.
Playmate # 21: you have to explore the area a bit. It is located next to some oil barrels placed outside.
Playmate # 20: it is almost at the end of the mission. There is a small group of people impossible to miss, go to your left, you will notice some steel stairs, do not go up but go straight and go right. You should see a small "refuge" complete with beds. Under one of the beds, near the fire, the magazine will be located.
Chapter 9
Chapter nine has four magazines.
Playmate # 41: it's on the counter of the Maltese Falcon near the beer taps.
Playmate # 23: it's in the sewers. After being soiled by the sewage discharge, do not continue but turn left. The magazine will be there, in a corner.
Playmate # 22: is in the warehouse of the slaughterhouse. After sneaking into the first room of the slaughterhouse (the one with the sleeping worker), you will find the magazine between a garbage can and a pile of coal.
Playmate # 24: it is located inside the slaughterhouse in the upper right corner.
Chapter 10
Chapter ten includes four magazines.
Playmate # 25: it is inside the laundry room. There is a worker sitting at a desk. The magazine is to your right.
Playmate # 27: it is located on the floor on the sixteenth floor. Instead of following Joe and going upstairs, go down. You will find a metal gate blocking the way. The next issue is next to it.
Playmate # 26: it's next to the elevator generator. However, to get it, you have to be very fast.
Playmate # 48: the last one is in your cottage on the bathroom floor.
Chapter 11
Chapter eleven has five magazines.
Playmate # 47: is located on the second floor on the windowsill.
Playmate # 29: it sits on a wicker basket in the second floor bathroom.
Playmate # 28: it is located on the floor in the bedroom under the leg of the unconscious boy.
Playmate #49: it is in Joe's apartment at the foot of the bed.
Playmate # 30: it can be obtained in the Tara Pub. Beware that the magazine is partially hidden by a box in a corridor.
Chapter 12
Chapter twelve has three magazines
Playmate # 32: it is immediately near the place where you will meet the guide. The magazine sits between two crates and a delivery truck.
Playmate #31: it is right behind the garbage can at the end of a dead end.
Playmate #33: it is on the right wall near the large green current unit.
Chapter 13
The chapter features three journals in total. Some of these, however, are difficult to identify.
Playmate # 34: it is in the main dining room in the corner on the left. After taking out the gunmen in the restaurant, go up the stairs at the back of the room and go left. Turn left again at the top of the stairs and walk down the hall to the last table, the magazine is on one of the armchairs.
Playmate # 36: it is found in one of the opium halls in the same building on a small pile of wooden crates.
Playmate # 35: located in the armory, it will not be easy to find. As Vito and Joe sneak into the basement, you'll come across this room, with masked workers doing something related to the drug business. You'll know you're in the right place when Joe silently stuns a guard who comes out of a room full of weapons. Enter the room. The next Playboy will be on your right, at the top of a low filing cabinet.
Chapter 14
Three magazines are available.
Playmate # 44: after Vito and Joe wake up at the construction site, shoot down all three guards, locate a walkway next to the stairwell. Go through it. You will see an alcove, a little further on you will find magazine # 44 in a corner.
Playmate # 37: You will have to go down a ladder guarded by some hit men. At the bottom, you will be attacked by a guy with a shotgun, after which someone will throw a Molotov cocktail and the road will be blocked by fire. Go to your left and you will find the magazine on a dais.
Playmate # 38: Jump over the barrier and get rid of the henchmen in the room. Once the road is clear, keep right and head for the incomplete door, enter it and go straight. Issue 38 of the magazine is placed on some crates and bricks.
Chapter 15
Playmate # 45: It is located on the first floor, in a corner near the stairs leading to the Observatory.
Playmate # 39: After reaching the roof and the entrance to the telescope. Don't enter but go right. You will see a small terrace winding around a corner. Follow it to the end…… and you will find Playboy issue 39.
Playmate # 43: Go to the telescope room. Head to the left side of the telescope and you will see the Playboy number right next to the stairs.
Playmate # 42: During the last battle in the planetarium, run to the projector as soon as the road is clear. Go past the wooden counter and you will find the magazine on the floor.
Congratulations! You have just collected all the vintage magazines of Mafia II: Definitive Edition and have also obtained the related trophy / achievement!
