It's hard to be honorable, but you have to try!
In Red Dead Redemption 2 we can raise our honor level to unlock new clothes and gain access to the unmissable honorable mission "Don't Seek Absolution"In chapter 6 (requires honor level 4 of 8), which is required to unlock the trophy"Help". Maintaining a high level of honor will also give other benefits, which we will explain in detail at the end of this guide. The highest honor level achievable is 8.
To keep track of your honor, you must press 
and check the bar at the bottom of the screen. If the bar is on the left (red) it means dishonorable. Right (white) is honorable.
The best ways to raise the honor level
Throwing fish into the water: Fishing is a great way to increase your honor level and is a method that can be repeated over and over again. After catching a fish while fishing, instead of keeping it, throw it into the water. Make sure the honor icon is shown in the upper right corner.
Complete bounty hunts: Turning outlaws to the sheriff's office will raise your honor level. So in addition to fishing, bounties are the best and most reliable way to raise your honor level, especially in preparation for the chapter 6 honorable quest that requires honor level 4 by 8.
Casual encounters: Randomly, from time to time, white-circled question marks will appear on the mini map, indicating random encounters. It won't happen very often. Sometimes, these meetings help people and can consequently increase the level of honor. For example. help someone whose horse has run away, help an injured person, give someone a ride home, give medicine to a sick person, show the way to someone who asks for directions, even on the train you can meet disabled people who need help a hand. These events can happen anywhere and anytime.
Donations to the camp: Donate $ 20,01 to the camp. It only counts when the white honor icon appears in the top right corner after making the donation. If we repeatedly give $ 20,01 the honor level will increase.
Pay for your bounties: do you have problems with the law? Not a big deal, pay the amount due to the company directly at the post office and all will be forgiven. This can also earn extra honor. During history, by force of circumstances, large sizes will hang on our heads. Pay them!
Surrender to the men of the law: Have you committed a crime and been captured? When the police arrive, stay unarmed and surrender. You will spend a few nights in prison. Such a decision will earn you honor and avoid unnecessary bloodshed.
Complete camp activities and errands: From time to time, the gang members will stop you at the camp and make some requests. Mostly in relation to objects they want. If you find the requested item, give it to the one who has entrusted you with the task, in this way you will gain honor. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the activities of the camp. These are nothing more than mini-games and special side activities like farm robbery or stagecoach. Always do camp events when they become available.
Killing rats in the cities: This is a very random occurrence, but you can kill rats in cities, perhaps in a beast-infested bar. This is just a lucky activity and not a viable way to quickly gain honor.
After the story: Do daily missions to quickly gain honor. You can advance time. This is by far the fastest way to get honor, but it only works after you've finished the main story.
Main missions: Some story missions have choices that may increase or decrease your honor level. This is the most reliable and fastest way to increase honor, but there are very limited opportunities.
Specific decisions to increase honor per mission
Chapter 2 - Polite Society, Valentine Style: Calm the runaway horse and return the horse to its owner.
Chapter 2 - Polite Society, Valentine Style: Rescue the witness hanging from the cliff.
Chapter 2 - Polite Society, Valentine Style: During the baton hunt, Arthur automatically steals a horse. Bring it back to the owner later.
Chapter 2 - We have loved once and for all - III: Accept Mary's request to save Jamie
Chapter 3 - Sodom? Back to Gomorrah: break the safes, don't blow them up.
Chapter 4 - Fatherhood and other dreams: Mary will ask Arthur to retrieve a pin for her. Accept his request and buy it back without using violence.
Chapter 4 - Brothers and sisters, One and all: in this mission you must find a boy. He will drop a crucifix, bring it back to the nun.
Chapter 6 - A Rage Unleashed: Accept to help Rain Falls.
Chapter 6 - Archeology for Beginners: Agree to help Monroe when she asks you during a dialogue.
Chapter 6 - Mrs. Sadie Adler, Widow: help Sadie (accept her mission).
Chapter 6 - Do not Seek Absolution (requires activation of Honor Level 4): Help Archie & Edith in this series of missions.
Chapter 6 - The Course of True Love IV / V: Take the woman back to her boyfriend on the train. After the train ride, refuse to take her jewelry for payment.
Chapter 6 - Red Dead Redemption: Don't come back for the money.
Last but not least, obviously don't do things that reduce the honor level. If you can, don't go around killing and looting random people. Whenever a choice arises between saving or killing someone on a mission, choose to value life and be kind to people and lead by example.

Rank 8: Nothing, just peace of mind that you are the most honorable gunslinger in the wild west.
