Ready to heal psychodramas and unlikely diseases.
All eight seasons of Dr. House - Medical Division are now available to Infinity subscribers. A total of 177 episodes that tell the genius and cynicism of Dr. Gregory House and the exploits of his team. Also available in the original language and in Super HD, the series created by David Shore with the collaboration of Bryan Singer (producer), can be fully inscribed in the “medical-drama” genre. But from the very beginning, during the development phases of the concept, the intent was to create a medical series without crowding the scene of white coats chasing each other in the ward. This is just one of the conditions imposed by the production that led to the definition of the main character played by Hugh Laurie, on which, in fact, the whole series is centered.
A protagonist able to thoroughly investigate the lives of his patients, without ever empathizing with them, digging into their psyche to bring out secrets and lies to better identify and treat pathologies that are impossible to diagnose. Each single episode deals with a specific medical case to which a very specific theme is brought back that also involves the individual personal relationships between the protagonists of the series, in particular with the figure of House. And, although it is often brought up, hardly anyone is affected by Lupus.
In addition to House, in the Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital in New Jersey there are Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), director of the institute and a great supporter of House despite the unorthodox methods used by him, his friend and oncologist James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), and the three very young doctors on his team: Cameron (Jennifer Morrison), Chase (Jesse Spenser), and Foreman (Omar Epps). At least at the beginning this was the team. The Dr. House series represents a real world cult event, as evidenced by the long list of awards won (two Emmy Awards, a Creative Arts Emmy Award, two Golden Globes, five Satellite Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Teen Choice Award, two TCA Awards etc.), with reflections also in the cultural sphere, so much so that it is defined as a “House phenomenon”, from which parodies, quotes and successful merchandising derive. The TV series was, by far, the most viewed television broadcast in the world in 2008 and was included in the top-ten of the best TV series between 2005 and 2009. The critical and audience awards received by the lame doctor have contributed to raise Dr. House - Medical Division into the Olympus of TV series that no fan should miss.
