20th Century Fox e Cold Iron Studios they announced a new one cooperative third person shooter set in the universe of Alien, We are talking about Aliens: Fireteam. A title that will see up to three Marines fight against the Xenomorphs in a fight for survival.
On board the USS Endeavor players will have to fight against the Xenomorph hive. There will be twenty different types of enemies, from Xenomorphs to Facehuggers all the way to Praetorians. Each will be equipped with their own intelligence to ambush, outsmart and gut “vulnerable” Marines.
Players will also need to fear assaults from Alien Spitter, Warrior and Burster. The CEO, Craig Zinkievich, he specified that the game "will be more than challenging", but there will be difficulty settings, challenge cards and mutators to help players customize their experience. In addition, there will be four story campaigns with three missions each, which can be played consecutively or individually.
Players will be able to choose from one of the five classes available: Gunner, Demoman, Technician, Doc and Recon along with over 30 weapons. Among these players can expect: the classic assault rifle and the flamethrower. Weapons that will be the cornerstones of the marines' arsenal.
Zinkievich went on to say that along with the classic M41A pulse rifle, flamethrower and fragmentation grenades, there will be new weapons such as the charge coil. These are essentially sticky grenades that can blind and stun xenomorphs. All weapons will be customizable with over 70 mods and attachments.
To top it off, as players level up their Marines, they will receive new skills, weapons, and customization options (along with a Perk tab for tweaking the skills themselves). And while it can be played with up to two other human players, it will be possible to complete the squad with AI-controlled companions.
Aliens: Fireteam is currently in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, PS5 and PC and is scheduled for release in summer 2021.
