DJI Mavic Air 2s. The ace of heaven from 595g

Not even a year has passed since the release of the "Mavic Air 2" model, an exciting drone from all points of view in relation to the price, which here comes from the cylinder of the Chinese company famous for its magnificent drones, a version appears " S ". The suffix signifies a definitely better reinterpretation of the previous base model, as Apple does with the iPhones.

In fact, the model is similar to its predecessor in size and type, with some important differences; these include the new shock sensors, an improved signal transmission technology and the 1 ″ sensor camera with 2,4μm pixel density to capture more light, take photos at 20MPX and shoot in 5.4K at 30fps or 4K at 60fps

The sensor therefore is similar to that of the Mavic 2 Pro high-end and much larger than half an inch than last year's Mavic Air 2. So we expect the same quality as the Pro drone.

The video bit rate has increased. From 100 Mbps you get to 150Mbps, so a better quality from all points of view.

You can record both in H.264 and H.265 format for greater compression without loss of quality, with the possibility of recording in HDR in HLG mode or with a 10-bit D-Log but which then needs "color grading "in the editing phase.

The zoom is digital and reaches 4X at 4K 30fps, 6X at 2,7K 30fps, 4X at 2,7K 60fps, 6X at 1080P 60fps and 8X at 1080P 30fps.

Like the top of the range, but with mid-range weight and dimensions

As a novelty we will also have an 8GB intregated memory. Little to do some real high quality shots, but this memory is to be considered emergency, when it happens to forget behind the microSD for a little excursion in search of some spectacular scene to shoot, or it will run out of additional memory of your coupons.

To make things easier for users who are less experienced in flight but are passionate about beautiful aerial shots, DJI has included a mode called MasterShots. In this way a flight path is set and then the drone will start recording some scenes in full autonomy following 3 main patterns: proximity, landscape and portrait. Then directly from its application, it will be possible to create a single movie that can be saved

This model compared to the previous one has more sensors to avoid collisions. The new APAS 4.0 system reveals obstacles in 4 directions, thus completely covering the surrounding area. According to DJI itself this is the most advanced autopilot in its range of vehicles.

The binocular zoom helps to recognize obstacles at a safe distance, allowing the drone to automatically bypass the obstacle that is around it.

The remote control is the same as the previous model, but uses Ocusync 3 transmission technology (the same as the newer DJI FPV, which is nothing more than the evolution of the Ocusync 2 found on the Mini 2). The maximum range is well 12 Km in mode FCC and without interference. In mode CE it reaches a maximum of 6 Km.
