In addition to the iconic items from The Sims, The Sims Social includes others taken from the real world thanks to partners like Dr Pepper, Dunkin 'Donuts and Toyota, who can provide extra power-ups and benefits.
The innovation that underpins The Sims Social is the pinnacle of the close collaboration between The Sims and Playfish, which benefits from 10 years of success from The Sims on the one hand and a deep experience in social gaming on the other.
"In creating The Sims Social, it was important for us to incorporate the rich nuances of the gameplay perfected by The Sims Studio and capitalize on what Playfish does best, which is to create engaging and innovative social gaming experiences," said John Earner, General Manager from the London studios of Playfish. "Our in-depth knowledge of the gaming platform that Facebook represents will allow us to continue to offer dynamic new features, missions and updates, so as to keep The Sims Social always fresh and fun."
Players can share their in-game achievements, jokes and much more thanks to the updates and wall posts allowed by the Facebook interface. They can cause scandal by publicizing their family-ruining ambitions when they ask another Sim to leave their current partner, or make a friend smile by saying they just danced with him, or sang him a song. The Sims Social also features an innovative “replay” feature, which allows each player to see what their friends and home have done to their Sim and their home during their absence. That way, he'll be able to find out if anyone has come to see him and cooked him something, or fixed his guitar. Or discover that a rival has decided to visit him to put a spider behind the toilet or a fish in his bed. The Sims Social is an authentic social experience that revolutionizes the way you play with life and with friends.
