As you well know, the game's story will take you on a bizarre journey into space as Selen Vassos, who after losing control of her spacecraft and destroying it, discovers she has landed on a bizarre planet. Your adventure based on an unusual loop that will lead you to live, die and repeat, will help you discover the mysteries that this planet hides.
That said, it's time to take action and find out how to increase your health, as for most of the game you will find yourself taking more or less severe damage. So, if you want to survive this nightmare loop, immediately dedicate yourself to the protagonist's health bar. The latter, in Returnal, is known as "suit integrity".
You can make our Selen more resistant through three elements: resin, parasites, manufacturer updates.
Resin
In order to increase the integrity of the suit you will need to find some resin. The latter will be highlighted on the mini-map thanks to some green icons in the shape of a cross. The marked containers as well as providing you with the necessary resin may contain healing items.
At the bottom left of the screen you will notice three small points next to your health bar. These will be filled based on the resin you collect, after having fully charged the aforementioned pellets, you will receive a new portion of health. A small piece of resin will fill one dot, while a “large piece” will fill 2.
It gets interesting when in case, with full health, you take another healing item. In fact, rather than leaving it there unused, the game will turn it into precious resin.
Parasites
During your wanderings you will find a number of different parasites, each of them will give you a specific benefit, even if you will have to face some debuffs. These little beings will be able to increase the integrity of your suit, even if it will be difficult to "farm" all the parasites that will help you in the task.
Manufacturer Updates
If you don't want to go hunting for items, you can always buy the 25% increase in health spending well 350 Oboliti. The latter are small golden splinters of energy that you can collect from the corpses of enemies.
Remember one thing though, once you die you will lose all health bar upgrades and have to start over.
