How to unlock Luigi
Would you like to play with Luigi? To do this, just finish the game a first time using Mario, beat Bowser, in the file selection screen, hold down L + R for a few seconds, you will hear a sound and at start-up you can impersonate the legendary Luigi.
Alternate title screen
As with any Mario title, you will have the option to change the main title screen. To change the game screen in this title as well, just collect a million coins and you will unlock a new backdrop with a completely golden statue of Mario.
Rainbow paths
The rainbow paths are secret levels, to unlock these secret levels you will have to jump on the flagpole when the timer ends with the numbers indicated (found below). There will be no shortage of lives in New Super Mario Bros 2, but if you feel like taking on the entire game with a significant amount of lives, there is a trick for you.
In Mushroom World - Level 1, go to the Star Coin, then stand at the top of the stairs. At this point when the Noko Noko appears, go down to the second / third step and when the Noko Noko reaches you, jump (without crashing) on it. If done properly the Noko Noko will jump off the wall but Mario will keep jumping on it.
Note that Mario doesn't have to be gold in order for this trick to work.
Mario without a hat
Reach Triple Crown status by reaching 1100 lives to play Mario without a hat.
