Bravely Default II is a complex, layered, long-lived game full of challenging challenges. Like any good Japanese RPG that respects itself, the exclusive Nintendo Switch requires a lot of attention in order to be managed at best.
Dealing with the best of the clashes and thus proceeding in the adventure is not an easy mission, for several reasons. In fact, the title requires a more marked strategic approach than you think, and throwing yourself headlong into difficulties is never a good move.
Are you worried? Don't worry: we'll take care of it! With these little tips we want to try to make the journey inside Bravely Default II as pleasant and smooth as possible.
Be ready: the journey is only just beginning!
Bravely Default II is a long and challenging journey!
To get started in the best way, listen to the suggestions that the game gives you, whether they are tacit or not, and arm yourself with a lot of patience. Bravely Default II is a very tactical game, and each enemy requires careful planning in order to be defeated.
Always be at a higher level than required by the game map, as the various bosses will always be much more powerful than the enemies that populate the area. Mind you that the first attempts against the various bosses will serve to get to know them and to develop the most effective strategy to get the better. Each skill can be useful to you, so try to get to know your characters and the various Classes that you have available at that moment in the best possible way.
The game gives you all the tools to move forward and it's up to you and your planning skills (and your patience) to move forward. Pay close attention to the first Class you unlock, as it can be your best ally for its extraordinarily useful passive and active abilities.
Party and skill management is key
As a first step, we recommend that you bring the Handyman up to level 9, this is because in this way you will find yourself having unlocked the following skills: Examine (shows the characteristics of the enemy, including weaknesses and life points), Smoothie (makes target recover 20% HP and 10% MP), Divine wand (shows the number of hidden chests nearby), Recon (cancels the damage caused by environmental traps), Self-healing (cures Poison, Darkness, and Silence at the end of a fight), Cleaning (removes Chaos, Fury, Malia, Terror, and Doom from the target) and finally PC +. This last passive skill increases your Class Points earned at the end of each fight by 20%. This is useful both for taking the Class further Handyman both for the other classes, so we advise you to always keep it set among the abilities of your characters. Of course, it won't be a walk in the park level 9, but it will be worth it. At level 12 you will unlock PC ++, which increases the CP earned by 50% (if added to CP + you will arrive at an increase of 70%). If you are patient enough, try to get to level 12 with the Handyman, so that you also have PC ++, whose usefulness is obvious.
Other very useful skills to unlock are Solar power ed Lunar Energy, respectively belonging to White Wizard and Black Magician. Solar Energy increases Healing Power, Aim and Luck during the day, with a recovery of 4% of your MP each turn. Lunar Energy, on the other hand, increases the power of the attack spells during the night, the Dodging and Luck, with a recovery of 4% of MP each turn. Both are unlocked from level 5 of their respective Classes. In addition to the aforementioned passive abilities, bringing the two magical classes listed above to level 5 will give you access to various attack and healing spells, always very useful and capable of giving you a considerable advantage in all situations.
Managing your finances in the best possible way is essential!
In addition to the recommended skills according to the various Classes, we give you a couple more tips on Bravely Default II: do not buy or sell equipment. Every wearable item that you will find for sale you can also find it around, with a few exceptions, and buying them by spending PG is a real shame. Not only that: much of what you can buy from merchants is less powerful than what you find in the various chests. It is useful to buy more pieces similar to each other, if they are particularly useful (for example, we happened to have to equip ourselves with three White Veils, in addition to the one we already have) due to a boss capable of inflicting Mutism on all the various characters). So arm yourself with the Divine Wand and patience, and explore far and wide every corner of each map, because you can find beautiful surprises. Also try to always complete the Secondary Assignments, since they can provide you with really interesting rewards.
In conclusion
In short: the factors to take into consideration are really many, but it will be worth it. Bravely Default II is a game that knows how to give a lot of satisfactions, as long as you know how to approach it properly. The level of challenge always calibrated upwards and the need to weigh every action in battle are just some of the characteristics of a JRPG designed for purists of the genre. Getting stuck or not knowing how to deal with one or the other boss is a not so remote possibility, quite the contrary. For this reason, we invite you to stay with us: with the right precautions everything will be easier. Trust me!
