CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher video game series, along with Capcom, invite players from around the world to take part in an epic-sized hunt in Monster Hunter: World, with The Witcher 3 themed missions.
The content of the crossover revolves around a new series of missions available to all Monster Hunter: World players who have reached Hunter Rank 16th or higher. Geralt of Rivia, dubbed in the Spanish version, will have to complete the Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest that will see him hunt and fight a very powerful creature known as the Leshen. Defeating her will require skill typical of a professional hunter, and players will have the White Wolf's arsenal and skills at their disposal, including her silver sword and combat spells. As per the tradition of The Witcher series, players will be able to influence the progress of the story through dialogue.
Starting February 15 at 1:00 am, the best monster hunters (rank 50 or higher) will be able to put their skills to the test in an extremely difficult multiplayer event, which will see them face the scariest form of the Leshen. The Contract: Spirit of the Forest will be available for a limited time, until March 1st at 00.59.
Complete the Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest will grant players special Witcher-themed items, resources to build Geralt's armor and weapons, a unique skin and weapon for their Palico, as well as new gestures, titles, poses, and guild card background. Completing the Contract: Spirit of the Forest will further reward players with resources they will need to build armor and weapons for Ciri, another iconic character from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The Monster Hunter: World x The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt collaboration is a free update to Monster Hunter: World. The update is currently available for download on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The content will also arrive on PC soon.
