All the gems of the great hall (floor 1)
After passing floor B1 you will be able to access floor 1 of the Grand Lobby. This area features a number of gems to collect. To help you collect gems in the area, use our all floor 1 gem location guide below.

Location of the white gem: Couch Ghost
In the room to the left of the reception there is a sofa along the window. Next to this sofa is another hidden sofa. Use the Dark Light on this sofa to make it appear. Once it appears, you will see five blue orbs appear. Vacuum them and a ghost will appear. Defeat it to get the white gem.
Location of the red gem: painted with the elevator
Next to the elevator on the lobby floor is a painting of the hotel. Under the painting is a gear that you can shoot with the plunger. Do this and pull the plunger to make the Red Gem appear.
Location of the blue gem: Grate Cover
Go up the stairs and head to the left side of the room. On the floor you will see a carpet. Use the vacuum cleaner to roll up the carpet, revealing a grid. Activate Gommiluigi and drop him into the grid. Walk to the front area and reach a grid cover with the blue gem on it. Knock down the gem to drop it on the desk below. Go down through the grid and get the gem.
Green Gem Location: Potted Plant
Next to the elevator you will find the green gem in the vase to the right of the elevator. To get the bud you need to use the plunger on the plant to pull it to the ground. This breaks the plate allowing you to grab the gem.
Purple Gem location: hidden behind the reception
The purple gem is located behind the reception desk in the lobby in an area behind the mail slots. You must use the Strobobulb on the green switch on the right to access this hidden area. Once the switch is activated, the purple gem will appear.
Yellow gem location: Chandelier
The yellow gem is located in the chandelier in the middle of the hall next to the hotel entrance. To make the gem appear you need to complete the following steps:
- Ask Luigi to stand on the correct pressure plate.
- Place Gommiluigi on the pressure tile on the left.
- Use Gommiluigi's strike on the chandelier. Switch to Luigi.
- Use Luigi's vacuum cleaner on the chandelier.
If you follow the steps above, a certain number of coins will rain down on you. After this the yellow gem will appear.
Once you have collected all six gems listed above, you will unlock the "All Gems in the Lobby" achievements. This achievement counts towards your overall progress in the game.
All mezzanine gems (floor 2)
Let's go to floor 2. On this floor you will find E.Gadd's portrait and some collectibles.
Location of the red gem: E.Gadd Painting Room
In the room with the E.Gadd painting you will find the red gem in a secret room on the left side of the room which is accessible by sucking in the chandelier.
Location of the green gem: dressing room
You will find the green gem in a safe in the locker room. To reach the safe, move the coat from the left wall, then use the Strobobulbo to open the safe. In the safe is the gem.
Location of the purple gem: billiard room
Return to the Lobby and go to the right of the two large doors. There is a door here which is blocked by a sign. Use the plunger to move the sign. Go through the door and enter the first door on the right. This is the billiard room. Suck the sword from the right wall and then shoot the dart board. This will earn you the purple gem.
White Gem location: Phantom of the bathroom
Passing the billiard room down the corridor you will reach a division where you can continue straight or go right. Go right and enter the last door. Inside this door is a bathroom. Use the plunger on the far right to open it. There is a floating newspaper. Push the newspaper down with the plunger to reveal a ghost. Defeat the ghost to get the white gem.
Location of the yellow gem: corridor from the billiard room
Go down the corridor past the billiard room to reach a closed double door (leading to the restaurant) with two windows on each side of it. Pull out the sign and use both Gommiluigi and Luigi to suck the fans out of the windows. The yellow gem will drop from the ceiling.
Location of the blue gem: Kitchen freezer
Enter the double doors and go through the restaurant to the kitchen. When you enter the kitchen you will notice two large refrigerator doors. Open the door on the left with the plunger. Go to the freezer and suck up the ice block with the blue gem inside. Bring the block to the stove and melt it to get the gem.
Collect all the gems listed above and you will unlock the “Collect All Mezzanine Gems” achievement. This is necessary if you want to reach 100% of the game.
