An evolution of the franchise?
The new chapter in the Kingdom Hearts 3 franchise, certainly represents a very important step forward for the developers and for a series that over the years has however tried to propose (succeeding moreover) very different game mechanics also and above all as regards the level of combat and the management of magic.
Il co-director Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts 3, Tai Yasue, was interviewed by VentureBeat on this very topic.
Here are his statements:
“Each type of combat used has its own fun aspects but I think the magic point system using MP is very accessible. It worked fine but we don't want to do the same thing in every game. In Kingdom Hearts 3 we wanted to improve this system for the next generation.
“When using spells, we wanted the environments and enemies to react in a meaningful way. We didn't want them to just explode. It is also a question of effects. Using a frost spell creates a place where you can skate on the floor. We wanted the magic to interact dynamically with the game environments. "
At the moment, also thanks to the absence of the game at the last E3 2016, there are no particular news about the release of the game by Square Enix, also because the Japanese company has declared that it is strongly focused on the development of Kingdom Hearts 2.8.
