Microsoft has announced that Windows Live Hotmail, the service that will replace MSN Hotmail, is now available globally in 36 languages.
As the most significant update to Hotmail since 1996, the new service was designed to provide a radical improvement over the previous version thanks to feedback from over 20 million beta testers. Windows Live Hotmail is therefore a more effective and productive email service that consumers access when and where they want through the Web, mobile phones and email clients. Microsoft has also announced that during this month Windows Live Hotmail users will be given the opportunity to access their messages and Hotmail contacts for free from Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 using the beta version of the new Outlook. The Windows Live Hotmail roll-out phase will begin today and continue over the next few days and will give users the ability to request new Windows Live Hotmail accounts at www.hotmail.com. Current MSN Hotmail consumers will instead move their accounts to Windows Live Hotmail by connecting to the service and selecting the green “Join Windows Live Hotmail Beta” button.
