Reverse webcam solution with Google Meet
To overcome the reverse webcam or mirrored reverse webcam issue (until recently, the Google Meet Grid View add-on (fix) no longer worked), you must install Steven Kemp's VideoMirror extension in the Google Chrome browser. This is an add-on that will revert the image sent to a mirrored image to ensure that it can be displayed correctly.
It supports: Zoom, vimeo, YouTube, Crisparse and Google Meet and will flip the camera to match what others are seeing. But let's see how it works.
How to install and use VideoMirror
Open your Google Chrome browser (you can download it from this page) and after you get to the VideoMirror extension web page in the Chrome browser, click the Add button and then Add extension.
At the end of the installation, you will see a"VM" icon in the extension bar at the top of the browser.
Go into Google Meeting and start or join a meeting. You will see your video mirrored, but with the VideoMirror extension you will be able to flip the video. To do this, click on the VM icon in the Chrome extension bar, and your camera in Google Meet will flip.
The other participants, who had no perception of this problem even before, as it is a problem that affects only the one who sees your image, will still see your image and documents correctly. The VideoMirror extension is useful for you to be able to see your image and content without mirroring the video.
Here is an illustrative video on how VideoMirror for Google Meet works.
Alternate a VideoMirror
Here are two other great extensions you can use for your Google Meet meetings.
Google Meet Flip Camera
If you have any problems with this add-on, you can try the Google Meet Flip Mirror Camera extension for Chrome, which has similar functionality.
Google Meet Grid View
To use this extension, after installing it by searching for Chris Gamble's Google Meet Grid View extension, open Google Meet and click on the grid icon, from the Chrome extension bar. Select the item in the menu that where Advanced Settings appears and in the Behavior of your video in the grid section, choose the item Flip the video to be the same as what others see. And you're done.

Other camera issues on Google Meet
In Google Meet you may encounter other added issues that affect the camera and the way you communicate with the rest of the participants. Here are the most common ones and how to fix them.
Access to microphone or camera denied
Google Meet requires permission to use your camera and microphone in Chrome. Therefore, before each meeting it will ask you to allow access when you join a video call.
You may access without giving these permissions and encounter a communication problem during the meeting, but this is something that can be changed later. Simply click on the camera icon you see on the screen in the address bar and select the Always Allow option to prevent this from happening again.
If this does not solve the problem, try these other alternatives:
- Confirm that the camera is properly connected.
- Verify that no other app or program is accessing your camera.
- If you have more than one camera installed you will need to check if the correct one is enabled.
- Download the latest version of Google Meet if you do not have it updated.
- Pre-enable your camera before joining the meeting.
Meeting attendees in Google Meet do not see you
If this happens to you, you should check that your camera is turned on and that your computer (or whatever device you are using at the time) and browser are able to access it.
